The HFH Ranch is the largest contiguous vineyard in Amador County and the Sierra Foothills. HFH Ranch lies entirely within the Shenandoah Valley Appellation located in the Sierra Foothills. This is a central location to all of the 26 Amador County Wineries. The grapes from this Certified Organic Vineyard are being sold on contracts to some of the most well known wineries in Napa & Sonoma Counties, and other local wineries. The property is in the Williamson Act that allows 40 acre minimum parcels and consists of mostly gentle rolling hills with views overlooking the entire valley below and the Sierra Range. It is located about 30 minutes from downtown Sacramento.

Living in the Shenandoah Valley
Living in the foothills has its own flavor. The closest town is Plymouth, 10 minutes away. It has a population of 1,000 and has a good small town market, an excellent gourmet deli, and a very high end restaurant, Taste. There are other, less extravagant restaurants, a bank and a medical clinic.
Thirty minutes to the west and north is El Dorado Hills, with excellent shopping, two banks, three multiplex theaters, two very upscale markets, excellent bistros, and other restaurants. One short off-ramp to the west is East Bidwell (Folsom), with more shopping centers, Costco, Bev ‘n More, Home Depot, and boutiques. Twenty five minutes to the south of HFH Ranch on Highway 49 is Martell-Jackson, with several but not as large shopping centers. It is the County seat and has a first class hospital, Sutter Amador Hospital. There are four markets, including Raley’s and Safeway.
An hour and a half east is Kirkwood Resort (8,000 foot elevation), prime skiing and snow boarding as well as summer alpine recreation. The County is brimming with participatory activities, from the arts (painting, quilting, music and the like) to recreation, with a very well developed children’s recreation program. The Shenandoah Valley is increasingly the home of highly educated vineyard/winery owners, most of whom have retired here after successful executive careers in the Bay Area or Sacramento. There are twenty wineries in the Shenandoah Valley within minutes of HFH Ranch.
For more information go to the websites of the Amador County Chamber of Commerce, Amador County, the Amador County Wine Grape Growers Association, and the Amador County Vintners Association.
The ranch is in the process of being subdivided into 8 separate parcels through patent rights and the tentative parcel map has been extended to May 12, 2013.

One of the largest ponds in the county is located on the property. It is known as the Shenandoah Lake where you will see wild Geese, Egrets, Blue Heron, and other wildlife such as American Eagles soaring amongst the many generations old Oak and Fir Trees.

The vineyards have been meticulously maintained by one of the owner managers. The vineyards have been examined and inter-planted where needed to ensure top quality grapes and wine will be produced from this property.
