"Recently there have been a number of news articles focusing on doom and gloom in wine country. There’s no doubt we’ve had our share of challenges with this economy. Earlier this week I was contacted by NBC News wanting to do a story with winery related doom and gloom in mind. I mentioned to the reporter that she wasn’t going to find any wineries in distress that would be willing to talk about their failings. In lieu of that I suggested she contact Ben & Tara Sharp of Capture Wines, a new label that is an exception to the current “rule” / media focus. They are finding fabulous success for a new luxury brand in these trying times. This is especially gratifying for me because I brokered the purchase of the estate vineyard , Tin Cross Vineyards (the home ranch of Capture), then introduced the owners to Ben & Tara. Hence the creation of Capture Wines.
If you have a moment I think you will find this video interesting. As you will see the news clip sheds some positive light where many others continue to focus only on the negative.

More Follow Up From The Wine Industry - Reports of winery flops are overblown, San Francisco Business Times
Despite reports that a wave of foreclosures may hit Napa Valley’s wineries and vineyards, there are signs that rumors of Napa’s illness have been exaggerated.
“We have not received calls from folks desperate to sell their wineries,” said Eileen Fredrikson, of Woodside’s Gomberg, Fredrikson & Associates wine industry consulting firm, referring to recent media reports that a number of Napa foreclosures may be in the offing. “As with any industry, there is no one-size-fits-all story.”
